ISL 2021-22 kicked off on November 20th and almost one-fifths of the league stage is over. The opening match of the season saw ATK Mohun Bagan take on Kerala Blasters with the former side winning 4-2 against The Tuskers.

Since a major part of the league stage has been completed, all the 11 teams have also had their difficulties in terms of players sustaining injuries or getting suspended. There are approximately 25 players from all the 11 sides who have picked up injuries so far. The nature of these contusions has varied for the players-some minor whereas some season-ending.
The other reason behind players’ absence for a part of the season is also suspensions. Fouls in football are one of the most common things to occur but at times a bloody or a dangerous tackle from a player leads to them getting pulled up by the referee and ultimately getting suspended. So with some big names out because of injuries and some missing out on the football action because of suspensions, teams have a hard time managing things.
