Katie Sigmond Fined
Katie Sigmond who is a 20-year-old influencer uploaded a video of hitting a golf ball and also she was throwing a golf club. She was then fined $285 for doing this TikTok stunt. The US Attorney’s Office based in Phoenix has provided Insider a copy of Sigmon’s collateral forfeiture agreement, which has stated, ‘fine was related to 2 misdemeanor charges. One for Disorderly conduct, and for tossing and throwing items into the canyon. The two of them are Class B misdemeanor charges.’
The Central Violations Bureau of the Administrative Office, the US Courts said, ‘it received two payments from Sigmond on 15th of November which totaled $285.’
Sigmond was identified as the perpetrator after the video went viral of her hitting golf on Grand Canyon Nation Park’s Facebook page in October. Sigmond then uploaded the video to her TikTok page, which garnered more than 7 million followers but then deleted it.
Baird stated that a collateral citation was mailed to her shortly. However, because TikToker said yes to pay the fine, the case was handled outside of the court.
Sigmond did not respond to a request for comment. The social media pressures of pulling stunts for views continue to set bad social standards.
Earlier in 2019, a Southern California town which was known for its beautiful poppy blooms was forced to bar access to flowers because it could not handle the influx of viewer’s coming to take selfies there and the Influencers posing dangerously on the natural sights or leaving litter behind parks. This led one person to make a social media account several years ago for dedicating themselves and shaming them.
