Travel blogger Davud Akhundzada posted a video of Goa locals cheering on Pakistan during a cricket match versus New Zealand on Twitter early on Tuesday morning

In the now-viral video posted to social media, Davud was seen interacting with a few males in Calangute Bazaar, a neighbourhood in the North Goa region. A cricket match between Pakistan and New Zealand was being watched by the men, the travel vlogger saw.

“You’re rooting for New Zealand, right?” asked Davud. “Pakistan,” a middle-aged man who was seated on a chair immediately replied. When questioned about why he was backing India’s bitter adversary, he emphasised, “This is a Muslim area.” The remark surprised Davud, who is from Prague in the Czech Republic. It’s “interesting” that they are supporting Pakistan versus New Zealand in India’s bazaar in Goa, he continued.

The video has gone viral in no time.

The video was quickly widely circulated on social media. It was reposted by well-known Twitter user “Mr Sinha” with the caption “Snakes residing in our backyard.” On December 26, 2022, Davud Akhundzada first published the video on his own YouTube channel. The middle-aged man could be heard remarking, “This is all Muslim area, all Pakistanis” in the extended version of the video.”

“And you’re seated in the pub…. Good people, have fun,” the travel vlogger said. The YouTuber reminded them indirectly about their religion since it’s prohibited to consume alcohol in Islam. “This was quite surprising for me to observe,” Davud remarked in the caption of his video. Yet, the truth is that he wants to tell the entire tale without any changes.

The video was shot during ICC t-20 WC 2022.

According to the Pakistani cricket team’s match schedule, it is obvious that the video was first shot on November 9 of last year, during the first semi-final game of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup against New Zealand.
