In a nasty incident that was caught on camera early on Sunday, a University of Kentucky student was jailed for assaulting a black student worker and repeatedly spurring racist slurs for her.
According to online booking information, the student, Sophia Rosing, 22, was detained at a university resident hall just before 4 a.m. on suspicion of public intoxication, assault, disorderly conduct, and assault on a police officer. Her bail was set by a court at $10,000.

According to the student who was manning the front desk of the university’s Boyd Hall, Rosing, a white woman, came in while looking quite inebriated. In a TikTok video, the student worker, Kylah Spring, claimed that when she attempted to check on a woman, she was instead assaulted and spat upon with nasty venom.

In frightening footage shared on social media, Rosing declined the assistance and attempted to strike and abuse Spring while using the n-word at her repeatedly. In the video, Spring said to her,
Could you stop, please?
To which Rosing replied,
Nope. You’re both a n—-r and a b—h.
Spring then calmly replied,
Oh Jesus Lord, I do not get paid enough for this.
Rosing kicked Spring as she and another student attempted to get her into a seat for the class. According to the supplementary video, she then attempted to shove a shopping cart at them.
Spring reported that while telling her to complete her tasks, Rosing repeatedly struck her, kicked her in the stomach, and bit her arm. Spring said,
The girl starts saying things like ‘Do my chores,’ ‘It’s not my fault that you’re black,’ ‘It’s not my fault that you’re ugly,’ and at this point she’s like singing the n-word.
Was She Arrested?
Even when Rosing was handcuffed by police when they finally arrived, her racial outburst continued. Rosing repeated the n-word in a sing-song tone while the officer arrested her and put her hands behind her back.
Rosing allegedly bit and kicked a police officer, which prompted an allegation of assault on an officer against her.
