American professional race car driver Ryan Preece recently experienced a horrific accident at Daytona where his car repeatedly overturned while travelling at high speeds. Preece currently drives the No. 41 Ford Mustang in the NASCAR Cup Series for Stewart-Haas Racing. With only five laps left in the race on Saturday, vehicle driven by Preece struck teammate Chase Briscoe’s vehicle.

Notably, the car of the former accelerated off the ground almost immediately, left the Daytona International Speedway circuit, performed a frantic series of spins, and then struck the infield of the track. His automobile flipped ten times before hitting the infield grass, which made the situation worse. Fortunately, after the harrowing incident over the last circuits of the Coke Zero 400, Preece was able to exit the vehicle.

Greg Zipadelli, the director of SHR competition, reported to Racing America that Preece was awake and conversing but was shook up from the rough ride. Preece shared the aforementioned statement on social media at 11:52 PM ET, giving a brief description of his state. As per latest updates by Stewart-Haas Racing, Ryan Preece is awake, attentive, and mobile, although he will stay the night at Halifax Health Medical Centre for ongoing observation.

With two laps remaining after the incident, the race continued. Chris Buescher won his third race of the year as teammate Brad Keselowski of Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing powered him into the lead. Driver Ryan Preece is fortunate to have avoided serious injury given the number of spins his car experienced during the collision. Internet users prayed for his safety on Twitter after this accident.
