DR Congo star Ruth Kipoyi is under heat as fans are protesting a lifetime ban against the 26-year-old as a video of her punching Yasmine Mrabet went viral
For the unfamiliar, social media is currently flooded with a viral video that shows Kipoyi punching an opponent in the face.
As per the media reports, the incident took place quickly after half-time when the professional footballer fouled an opponent leading to a massive brawl.

Earlier, a friendly match was held between the national women’s football teams of the Democratic Republic of Congo and Morocco, wherein Kipoyi, who plays as a forward stunned spectators and fans worldwide with her unexpected action.
As the tension escalated on the field, a heated argument occurred between Congo and Moroccan players. After Kipoyi committed a foul, she got angry leading to a brief scuffle.
Amidst the commotion, the Galatasaray”s forward delivered a sudden punch to Yasmine Mrabet, a Moroccan player, resulting in the latter fall to the ground.
The incident left football enthusiasts stunned as many started questioning Kipoyi’s behavior and the need to show such aggression.
A video of the incident quickly surfaced online and now making its rounds all across social media platforms including X/Twitter, Reddit and Instagram as netizens are sharing their opinions while demanding a lifetime ban for DR Congolese footballer.

One such angered user took to X and wrote, “This should be a lifelong ban from football? How can this happen on a football pitch?” Another one penned, “Lifelong ban.”
A third one joined in, “That’s so crazy.” For the unversed, after the incident, Kipoyi was given a red card and sent off the field.
Although the match was disrupted due to DR Congolese footballer’s actions, despite this Morocco team emerged as the winner with 3-2 over DR Congo.

For the curious, Ruth Monique Kipoyi, widely known as Ruth Kipoyi, is a Congolese footballer who plays as a forward for Galatasaray in the Turkish Women’s Football Super League and the DR Congo Women’s National team.
Standing at 1.76 m (5 ft 9 in), Kipoyi represented DR Congo at the senior level during the third round of the 2020 CAF Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament.
She was also selected for the DR Congo squad for the 2022 CAF Africa Women Cup of Nations qualification match against Equatorial Guinea, although the team withdrew due to logistical and financial issues.
