India’s Asia Cup 2022 campaign is almost over as they suffered back-to-back defeats against Pakistan and Sri Lanka with a video of Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya from Tuesday viral
In both of the games, India was asked to bat first. Against Sri Lanka, the men in blue weren’t able to finish their innings strongly. India failed to get a strong finish in both the games they lost
One of the main reasons India got knocked out of the tournament is their inconsistency in finishing the matches. Hardik Pandya and Jadeja did do a wonderful job in the first game against Pakistan which they won but after that, they failed to do it while batting first. Against Pakistan in the super 4 games, India did get a flying start by Rohit and Rahul but in the middle overs, wickets kept falling. Virat Kohli who was well set in that game was not able to send many balls out of the park which made India fall short of 10-15 runs.
Against Sri Lanka captain Rohit Sharma played a wonderful knock of 72 runs off 41 balls. After the dismissal of Rohit India again failed to get a strong finish. India even experimented by sending Inform Hardik Pandya ahead of a full-fleged batsman Rishan Pant but that too didn’t work.

Indian wicketkeeper-batsman hasn’t been at his best form in T20 international. The Indian team has still stuck with Pant because of his special ability to hit runs in pressure situations. Pant has been chosen over in-form Dinesh Karthik who has been in smoking hot form in T20 cricket.
Against Sri Lanka Pant was padded up and was just about to come in with the fall of the next wicket. After the dismissal of Rohit Sharma India sent Hardik Pandya ahead of Pant who was the next batsman in the line to come. In the dressing room, Pant looked absolutely pissed with the fact that management chose Hardik instead of him when there were 7.4 overs left in the innings.
