Swae Lee, one half of the hip-hop duo Rae Sremmurd, apparently got into a fight with security at Coachella right before his set as seen in a viral video
TMZ released a video of the fight that shows Lee and his group fighting with the security guards. Here is more you need to know about this.
TMZ says that the rapper and his group had a “all-out royal rumble” with security right before Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi were supposed to perform. The situation happened backstage, and Lee’s baby was there in a car seat at the time.

On the video, members of Lee’s group can be seen fighting with security guards. TMZ says that security “swarmed in like piranhas” and “punched” a member of the team. At the end of the video, the security guards, who appear to be private contractors, are shown to be the aggressors and give gang signs as a sign of joy.
Questions arise over security handling at Coachella after altercation
In response to the incident, a representative for Swae Lee told TMZ that Swae Lee and his crew were met by overzealous security guards when they tried to get into the event with his newborn son. The statement says that the security guards did not know that Lee was half of Rae Sremmurd and that they were rude to the group as they tried to get to the stage.
It’s not clear what started the fight or if either person got in trouble for it. The situation has led to questions about how security at Coachella handled the situation and how these kinds of fights are handled.

It’s not clear what would have happened if Swae Lee hadn’t had his own protection, and it’s also not clear if anything else will be done about what happened.
Swae Lee stays mum on Coachella Brawl as he comes under scrutiny
Swae Lee, who is also known as Kid the Great and Kid Krunk, didn’t talk about what happened on Twitter. Instead, he wrote that he was going on tour with Post Malone to Stockholm, Sweden. Rae Sremmurd, on the other hand, just put out a new album, which you can listen to on their YouTube account.
This is not the first time that security at Coachella has been called into question. In 2019, a video showed a security guard slamming a festival-goer into the ground. In answer, Goldenvoice, which owns Coachella, said in a statement that the security guard had been fired and that they were looking into what happened.
