Watch Rangers vs Arsenal: Nuno Tavares Scores Goal On Debut For Arsenal In The Preseason Friendly

Debutant Nuno Tavares managed to score a goal in his first ever outing for Arsenal to see the club salvage a draw against Rangers in their preseason friendly

The months have passed but nothing has changed at Arsenal. Considered as the meme club of the Premier League, the side has continued revelling us in new fodder to take a chuckle at.

After a horrendous outing in their first preseason friendly, Arsenal failed to improve on their mistakes. The club was a comedy against Rangers as well who they took on, on Saturday as their preseason matches continued.

Nuno Tavares Scores Debut Goal Against Rangers

Managing to only scrounge their way to a 2-2 draw on the day, Arsenal had only themselves to blame for their defeat. At the fore of their sordid performance was striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang with him going onto miss a string of chances right infront of goal.

In a match fraught with mistakes and sorry showings, Arsenal supporters found solace in Nuno Tavares’ goal. The player who was playing his debut match for the club managed to restore parity in the first half after Arsenal had gone down 1-0.

And it was a stellar effort as well with him not only showing speed and awareness as he wrestled against a Rangers’ defender to burst into the box but also his shooting skills as he netted a fine strike.

Nuno Tavares Transfer To Arsenal From Benfica

The defender had ended up making the switch to Arsenal after a 6.8 million pound deal for him was agreed upon between him and Benfica. The 21 year old who will mostly be second choice to Kieran Tierney showed he’s more than capable of stepping up when asked to with the strike.

“I feel that people want me here. I like that because I need this power and I am so grateful for this,” Tavares had said after his transfer.

Arsenal are set to further bolster their horrid backline with the impending arrival of Ben White. The club is said to have agreed a 50 million pound deal to acquire the Englishman’s services from Brighton.
