The Tour de Slovenia is no exception to the rule that professional cyclists put their bodies through hell over the course of several days while riding an absurd number of miles but in the end, the winner was decided by a game of rock paper scissors in a viral video

In the 2022 edition of the tournament, the two frontrunners had a rather strange finish after battling it out over five stages and about 500 miles in total.

With only a few yards to go, Rafal Majka and Tadej Pogacar Dani Alves wife decided to settle the race’s outcome with a meaningless gesture rather than expend their final reserves.

Using a game of rock-paper-scissors, the winner of the Tour of Slovenia was determined. Pogacar won the Tour de Slovenia for the second year in a row. In 2021, the home favourite defeated the Italian Diego Ulissi, and his closest rival in 2022 was Majka, although the results were drastically different from the year before.

Tadej and Majka were running neck-and-neck until they mutually agreed on a winner when their tanks ran dry on the final stretch to the finish line, in what is possibly the craziest finish in the history of the sport.

Pogacar won the Tour de Slovenia’s double without resorting to any of their years of training or experience. Instead, they decided the winner by a single game of rock, paper, scissors.

Sportsmanship at its best during the event

Even if they played rock, paper, scissors to break a tie and determine the winner of the race, the fact that they made the choice on their own while the race was in progress is strange. At the end of five exhausting stages and about 500 miles, the two showed wonderful sportsmanship toward one another and acknowledged Pogacar’s triumph.

Sportsmanship at that level, exemplified by a rousing contest and a satisfying conclusion, is why we watch them. The event in the video above took place last year, but it has just gone viral on Twitter due to how frightening it is.
