Scores of videos have emanated on social media platforms of PVR Cinemas trying to curb people from watching The Kashmir Files
Ever since its birth, Bollywood has been known for its innate penchant of not dressing down Hindus, Hinduism and the traditions and culture of the country but also hailing anti-national elements and spreading its propaganda through movies.
Over the years, manifold movies have emanated from the industry fraught with leftists, ones where not only history has been distorted but terrorists and gangsters have been painted in a hunky dory light. However, the picture has changed over the last couple of years with public not only wholly rejecting such agenda but also indulging in nationalist movies which tell the true story of how Hindus were clamped down on by Islamists.

I think #TheKashmirFiles is Tax free in UP. Not sure why @_PVRCinemas are charging taxes. In other states the ticket price ranges between 130-150.🤷🏻♂️ @CMOfficeUP @myogiadityanath pic.twitter.com/CBNVUCEDYo

Despite the wide scale efforts of mainstream Bollywood names to try and clobber The Kashmir Files, the movie has gone onto do unprecedented numbers at the box office. The movie has not only been lauded but has seen people come out in hoards to the theatres to watch the first ever real portrayal of the genocide of Kashmiri Pandits in 1990 at the hands of Muslims.
While the movie has gone onto strike a chord with the audience, it wasn’t without hiccups though. Strings of critics went onto belittle the movie and discredit it before its release with one movie ticket booking app not even showing The Kashmir Files in its first page for ticket booking.
Theatres have been hand in glove with these forces with rafts of videos going viral on social media platforms, ones where movie goers have accused PVR cinemas of deliberating targeting The Kashmir Files. The videos show the a multitude of theatres owned by the chain not only muting the audio of the movie but also shutting off their ACs in the halls and claiming the theatre is sold out when a string of empty seats are seen inside.
