Scotland’s Beth Riva and Jason Banks clinched the 2025 Ambassador Cruise Line World Indoor Mixed Pairs Championship after overcoming Katherine Rednall and Paul Foster MBE 12-5 & 10-10.

Banks createed history after beating Robert Paxton 10-4 11-9 to add the Open Singles crown to his Open Pairs and Mixed Pairs titles, along with the Scottish International Open success.

Jason Banks (born 1996) is a prominent Scottish international lawn and indoor bowler, known for his impressive achievements in both disciplines. Banks made his mark in the sport early on, reaching the final of the 2014 National Indoor Singles. In 2019, he claimed the National Under 25 Singles title and triumphed in the Junior Singles at the IIBC Championships. That same year, he also earned three medals at the European Bowls Championships.

Banks continued to shine in 2022, winning a gold medal in the fours and a bronze in the pairs at the European Bowls Championships. One of his most notable performances came in 2023, when he reached the final of the World Indoor Bowls Championship. Despite playing brilliantly throughout the tournament, he was narrowly defeated by Jamie Walker in the final. That year, Banks was also selected to represent Scotland at the 2023 World Outdoor Bowls Championship.

Competing in both the men’s pairs and men’s fours events, he and Iain McLean won their group undefeated in the pairs, but were eliminated in the quarterfinals by Australia. In the fours, alongside Derek Oliver, Paul Foster, and Alex Marshall, Banks’ team topped their group and advanced to the final, where they earned a silver medal after a close 12–10 loss to Australia. Bowling runs in the family, as his father, Colin Banks, and his sister, Carla Banks, are both accomplished international bowlers themselves.

He ended up winning 50,000 pounds as winner of the World Indoor Bowls 2025 men’s singles championships.
