Social media was riddled with videos of Indians in Delhi coming out in full strength to regale in the jubilation of Pakistan packing their bags and heading for the exit door. The visuals made for resplendent viewing with unbridled fireworks being set off in the night sky.
The incidents of fireworks were not only restricted to the capital though with large parts of India seeing people bring out their remaining Diwali crackers to paint the canvas. Meanwhile, areas whose school of thought resonates with that of Pakistan had a defining silence with their being no joyous celebrations akin to the ones which had erupted when India was defeated by Pakistan.
Australia will now be taking on New Zealand in the showpiece summit clash to give us a new champion of the marquee tournament.
