On Thursday, three Panama players engaged in a game of rock, paper, scissors to determine who would receive Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez’s jersey. This came after in Buenos Aires, Argentina defeated Panama 2-0, with Lionel Messi scoring the second on a free kick to reach 800 career goals.

Why Panama teammate engaged in rock, paper, scissors after game & What was Enzo Fernandez’s reaction?
At the conclusion of the game, Fernandez appeared surprised when he was swarmed by three Panama players who wanted his shirt. The three teammates then agreed to play a game of rock, paper, scissors to determine who would get to switch shirts with the Chelsea player, which only served to make things stranger.
As the game originally began, Fernandez had a big grin on his face and appeared to think it was a joke. Yet, as you can see in the video above, the Panama players were entirely serious throughout the match, leaving Fernandez with a bewildered expression on his face. The Argentina star appeared to find his admirers’ game of rock, paper, scissors amusing as he grinned and moved away from them. It’s unclear who got the shirt in the end.

After the game, the visiting team crowded around seven-time Ballon d’Or winner Messi, who was happy to take selfies and sign shirts for everybody who requested it. Enzo Fernandez, a midfielder for Chelsea, was another World Cup winner who drew a lot of interest from the Panama players at the end of the game.
Fernandez’s direct appeal to his rivals was typical of the prominence he has gained in world football over the past few months. Although only joining Benfica in the summer, the 22-year-old shone at the World Cup in November and quickly attracted a transfer to Stamford Bridge. When the 22-year-old left Benfica to play for Chelsea at the amount of a whopping £106.8 million, he became the most expensive player in British transfer history. Yet, he still doesn’t seem to have adjusted to his newfound celebrity status.
