Crystal Palace player Michael Olise was struck by a bottle, one thrown at him by the Millwall fans during the club’s FA Cup third round tie

Taking on Millwall in their third round FA Cup match, Crystal Palace wouldn’t have envisaged the set of events which unraveled across the matchup.

It all began right before the showdown got underway with the home fans making their feelings at the take the knee gesture blatantly clear. They were seen boisterously booing the Crystal Palace players as they showed their solidarity to the Black Lives Matter movement.

Millwall Fans Throw Bottle At Michael Olise With Video Footage Showing Them Sending Off Flares, Missiles 

Things don’t stop there though during Millwall’s 2-1 defeat on the night with the home fans persistently setting off flares and throwing missiles on the pitch across the length of the clash. And one such missile was targeted at Michael Olise with the visiting side’s player being thrown a bottle at by the Millwall fans in the second half as he walked up to take a corner. Olise had previously drawn the visitors level on the night.

Conor Gallagher was also subjected with homophobic chants with the home fans singing the “Chelsea rent boy” song at the player, one the club has promised to take action against. “Millwall Football Club has a zero-tolerance policy against all forms of discrimination and will investigate any incident of alleged abuse accordingly,” a spokesperson for the Championship club said.

The same chant had been sung at Conor by Leeds United fans as well last year in the Premier League.
