Video footage of the Liverpool fans deciding to boo the UK national anthem at the Wembley Stadium has gone viral
Over the years, Liverpool supporters have gone onto make their feelings towards the UK national anthem, God Save the Queen blatantly clear. It has far from reverberated amongst the club’s fans who have failed to resonate with it with them preferring to boo and jeer whenever it is bellowed at stadiums during football matches.

And when the club’s supporters turned up in mammoth numbers at the Wembley Stadium on Sunday night to throw their weight behind their team as it took on Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final, the national anthem received the same treatment from them. As the entire stadium stood up in unison to croon the anthem, Liverpool fans vociferously booed it.
A stronghold of leftists, Liverpool’s hatred for the national anthem grew when 1979 saw Margaret Thatcher win. She went onto bring about a bevy of vital public cuts along with refraining services to communities in the region which brought the area to its knees.
Thatcher was advised in 1981 by her chancellor Lord Howe to put Liverpool into a period of “managed decline” to break the city’s resolve with the country’s south going onto grow an innate hatred for the country since.
“God save our gracious Queen, long live our noble Queen.”
“Send her victorious, happy and glorious, long to reign over us.”
The lyrics of the national anthem have far from failed to touch home with the magnitude of the working class in the city.
