The incident has put both players in the limelight and camera’s will be zooming in on Sane’s lips no doubt when he makes his next public appearance.
Sadio Mane reportedly punched Leroy Sane
According to reports, Sadio Mane reportedly punched Sane in the dressing room after Bayern Munich lost 3-0 against Manchester City. Sane was reportedly left with a bleeding lip after he got punched.
It all started after a heated argument on the pitch around the 83rd minute. Sane tried to find Mane with a pass as Mane tried to make a run in behind City’s defence, but Nathan Ake intercepted it.
Following the interception, as City broke out, Sane jumped up in frustration and started arguing with Mane. Some other footage of the two Bayern wingers also emerged showing them having a disagreement during last weekend’s league clash against Freiburg.
Footage and images of Sane hiding his lip
As of now, fans are still waiting for confirmation of the reports and are looking for any clue possible. And now, footage has emerged of Sane ‘hiding’ his bottom lip during his return to Munich following their 3-0 Champions League defeat.
In the footage, Sane wears a baseball cap, which he pulled down over his lower lip to hide any injury. Footage also shows Sane hiding his face while getting into Bayern’s team coach, with Mane close behind him. Following the incident, we could see Mane offer a formal apology in front of his Bayern teammates when the team returns to training.
Tuchel speaks out on Mane’s form
Mane has been having a difficult season at Bayern and his lack of form could have contributed to his burst of anger. Following a series of injuries this season, the Senegal international has scored just six goals in 20 Bundesliga appearances.
Bayern manager Thomas Tuchel spoke out to insist Mane is still a world class player.
