Looking set to remain sidelined for the entirety of the NBA 2021-22 season, Kyrie Irving got a fresh lease of life as he was finally called in by the Brooklyn Nets. Although he’s yet to feature in home games owing to him deciding to stay unvaccinated, the player finally got a chance to make his presence felt as he made his return for the Nets during their matchup with the Pacers.

However, not everyone was pleased with his return as he made his season debut on Wednesday night. The guard received a mixed reception as he was introduced over the PA just moments before the game with a section of the fans booing him while some cheered him on as well.

Irving’s return meanwhile worked in the Nets’ favour as the side managed to snap a three game losing spree with a 129-121 win on the night. The 29-year-old point guard played 32 minutes as he made nine-of-17 from the field along with three rebounds, four assists and three steals to help his side overhaul a 73-60 at halftime.
Kevin Durant (39 points, eight rebounds and seven assists) and James Harden (18 points, five rebounds and six assists) were all crucial to the side’s triumph on the day as the team’s big three finally moved in unison for the first time this campaign.
