Dan Rafael claims that Yerbossynuly was transported to the Hennepin County Medical Center for assessment. Due to brain bleeding, he remained in the hospital on Sunday night and was put into a medically induced coma.

In a joint statement, PBC and TGB Promotions said: Representatives of TGB Promotions and PBC are in Minneapolis with Aidos’ team and we are actively following the situation. They are unable to give any information out of respect for his privacy and those of his family, but they have asked the boxing world to remember him in its prayers.

In the last round, a bloodied Yerbossynuly, 30, was knocked to the ground twice before referee Tony Weeks stopped the fight.

The super-injury has caused the boxing world to wish him a speedy recovery.

Pray for Aidos Yerbossynuly, urged promoter Lou DiBella. He needs our kind thoughts and healing power. This was obvious by the middle of yesterday night’s fight, which by the eighth round was terrifying to watch.

36-year-old former world champion Yordenis Ugas tweeted: “All boxers are hurt by this news. We stand up and let our loved ones and supporters judge our lives. As a fan, you are free to critique any fighter’s performance, but you must never be disrespectful.

A fighter’s greatest accomplishment will always be to land on his feet after being raised. I will pray for you, champ. Keep battling champ, said 29-year-old George Kambosos Jr. Ronnie Shields, Morrell’s trainer, acknowledged that Yerbossynuly should have been removed from the fight much sooner.

The fight should have been stopped way earlier.

The boxing world has concluded that continuing the fight unnecessarily subjected the boxer to punishment. The referee should have stopped the player way earlier. Moreover, as Yerbossynuly didn’t want to get knocked out, he started fighting uncleanly at that point.

It was nothing but just his ego. We must admire the man for enduring such harsh treatment, but he has got to keep him from hurting. He received much too many blows. And what about that? The youngster may never be able to engage in combat again. It was awful to that level.
