KL Rahul, who just underwent surgery for a thigh injury incurred during an IPL 2023 match, is now on the road to recovery. However, he is set to miss the forthcoming ICC World Test Championship final against Australia on June 7 at The Oval in London.

Why KL Rahul will miss the 2023 ICC World Test Championship final?
After suffering a hip injury during the Indian Premier League season, Indian cricketer KL Rahul underwent successful surgery. He suffered the injury while fielding in the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore, and as a result, he missed the remainder of the IPL season. Rahul will also be absent from the forthcoming World Test Championship championship match. While expressing his regret over missing the WTC championship, he also reaffirmed his dedication to recovery and rehab in order to make a full comeback to the field.
Recently, the 31-year-old uploaded photos of himself walking with crutches with his wife Athiya Shetty by his side as he started his recovery process. Rahul underwent surgery as soon as possible and has subsequently informed his followers that the procedure was a success. He acknowledged his appreciation for the medical staff’s assistance throughout the procedure and reaffirmed his commitment to getting back to his top shape as soon as possible.
Who will replace KL Rahul in the Indian Men’s Cricket Team?
Ishan Kishan has been selected by the BCCI to take Rahul’s spot for the WTC championship match in the meantime. The team also received the addition of reserves Ruturaj Gaikwad, Suryakumar Yadav, & Mukesh Kumar. Jaydev Unadkat, another member of the team, is also healing from a shoulder injury he suffered in the nets. The cricketer will reportedly make a full recovery in time for the WTC final, though. A few days later, the BCCI would make a decision about Unadkat.
