From being dropped in England a couple of years back to now making his way into the board of honour at Lord’s, KL Rahul has truly come a long way.
Overhauling his dreary form and rediscovering himself as a player, KL Rahul was asked to open for India after Shubman Gill returned home injured. And he reposed the faith earmarked in him by the side with a half-century at Trent Bridge.
Stepping out in the second test match of the five match series, KL Rahul knew the clash was going to be another test of his skill set. And he was upto the task at hand as he hammered home a century, one which saw his name be etched into the folklore of the mammoth venue.

KL Rahul’s innings was especial not only due to the tricky surface it came at but also owing to the inclement weather he smashed the runs in. Despite seeing the speedsters get the ball to ominously deviate and his concentrate being persistently marred by rain, Rahul stood his ground to make a hundred on day one of the second test match between India and England.
Ensuing the knock, not only was the opener lauded by ardent viewers of the game but also by the India cricket team. In a video shared by BCCI, the entire Indian squad can be seen getting to its feet as it hails KL Rahul and ushers him into the dressing room to a raucous welcome.
KL Rahul’s century and Rohit Sharma’s half-century gave India an opening stand of over a 100 on Thursday. However, things weren’t quite so rosy for the side come day 2 with both Rahane and Rahul departing early on.
