Sushant, who has over a million subscribers on his YouTube channel, irritated many Pakistani admirers with his remarks about Prophet Muhammad’s marriage. On Monday, the video went viral on X, and shortly after, the hashtag #BoycottSushantMehta started trending. Sushant stated in a leaked video of himself from three years old that he finds jokes funny no matter who makes them and that the show doesn’t really address these kinds of subjects.

He stated that, first of all, when a problem like this arose, people got quite sensitive. When someone discussed these kinds of topics, there would only be two or three videos available in Cinema Yaari. He did not mind if Vir Das made jokes about the Ramayana and Munawar Farooqi made a hilarious comment about Lord Ram and Sita. When they were humorous, he laughed along with them. But after making a joke about the Prophet Muhammad, he apologized to the people who were hurt. His intention was not to offend anyone.

“It seems like mocking Hindu deities is in right now.” Sushant Mehta

Sushant emphasized the importance of not being overly sensitive and said that people should be ready to accept jokes about their faith if they were directed at others. The journalist stated that, regarding Hindu-Muslim relations, he voiced his mind and acted independently of any one religion. He requested everyone try not to be so sensitive.

While some comedians had made comedic videos about Hinduism, he dared to try making jokes about Allah. He said people are hypocrites if they think it’s acceptable to mistreat people but find it difficult to accept it when it comes back to bite them. Again, he apologized to everyone who was offended.

While mocking Hindu gods seems fashionable, people find it extremely offensive when comments are made about Muslims.
