Watch: John Cena Addresses WWE Universe After Cameras Go Off At Money In The Bank 2021

John Cena gave a short speech offscreen after he marked his return to WWE at Money in the Bank 2021

Lacklustre scripts and no live audience saw WWE’s viewership across the course of the last year. Much like every other sporting event, a lack of viewership saw the organisation’s financial state tumble with each passing event.

The dire position which WWE found itself in made the forthcoming Money in the Bank 2021 event one of the most important moments in WWE history. With spectators returning to the arena in almost a year amidst the COVID pandemic, WWE knew they had to cash in.

And the organisation got it perfectly right on Sunday as it brought back John Cena. It was a move not even the most avid viewer of the competition had envisaged with WWE managing to unravel the set of events to perfection.

As his entrance theme song blared through the speakers, the crowd went tizzy upon seeing John Cena grace the land of the arena. Roman Reigns was equally flabbergasted on seeing Cena enter the ring as his celebrations were brought to a thudding halt.

WWE Money in the Bank 2021: John Cena Addresses Audience At The Dickies Arena Upon His Return

Reigns who was rejoicing after retaining his Universal title by defeating Edge with Seth Rollins’ help stopped in his tracks as Cena squared off with him. Cena performed his typical, “I can’t see you” move in Reigns’ face before marking his return after move than a year.

However, fresh footage has emerged in the aftermath of Money in the Bank, one which shows Cena addressing the WWE universe as the cameras went off. This video which wasn’t aired has been posted on Twitter, one where Cena is seen talking about his time in WWE and how much he had missed the jeers against him.

Cena addressed the WWE Universe at the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth and talked about how he was stunned by the support he had received. Cena talked about the, “Let’s go Cena! Cena Sucks” chants

“So weird because I’m used to you guys telling me how much I suck. Man, this feels pretty good.

Cena continued,” I see this dude’s sign over here, it says ‘if Cena shows up, we cheer.’ Is this like Bizarro world?”
