The Super Licence penalty points system is used in Formula 1 when the drivers begin to misbehave on the track and display indiscipline. FIA introduced this penalty system as a punishment for the drivers causing a collision on the track and disrupting the flow of the race.

Drivers have to maintain the decorum of the race on the circuit and if they do something which the FIA considers dangerous they will receive penalty points as a punishment. These things include causing a collision with another driver, ignoring yellow or red flags, entering the closed pit lane, or driving too fast behind the safety car all these things are penalized by the  FIA.

These penalty points expire after 12 months have elapsed but the repercussions of these penalties are a race ban should 12 points be accrued during this period. Know the list of the penalty points for F1 2021.
