After breaking up a fight, a Vallejo high school football coach was shot in a terrifying video of Joe Pastrana
After attempting to break up a quarrel, the football coach at Vallejo High School in the San Francisco Bay Area was shot on Tuesday. The shooting was preceded by a brawl between several students and “several unknown individuals.” According to police, it was broken up by a school employee.

Joe Pastrana, the defensive coordinator for the school, was wounded after a few of the fight’s participants got into a car and drove off while firing shots. While firing back at the remaining group, some of the engaged people sped away in a dark vehicle. The employee was hit by at least one bullet and sustained a non-life-threatening wound, according to Vallejo police, as reported by NBC News.

To help combat and/or investigate this kind of lawlessness, the PD may form a school police unit again with more staff members. But the PD struggles to recruit new employees because of its ineffective leadership. As a result, staffing is between 80 and 40 percent below budget, one user commented.
Pastrana’s status is stable.
Video obtained by KTVU-TV depicts a trio of men leaving the altercation. Gunshots are suddenly fired as the camera pans away, causing teens to panic and flee. According to the Vallejo Times-Herald, Pastrana was wounded in the hip. The publication stated that he was steady. The offensive coordinator was transferred to a nearby hospital, according to Vallejo police, and is now stable and making a good recovery.
Head coach of Vallejo High School Mike Wilson III said that because of how surprised they were by the news, practise had to be suspended. When he learned what had occurred, Mike Wilson III, the football coach for Vallejo, cancelled practice. All of their practices were cancelled after they learned what had transpired, according to Wilson. They told everyone to go home when it was safe to do so.
