MATCH REPORT: ENGLAND 2- 0 GERMANY

A typical England performance was witnessed at the Wembley Stadium against Germany in the EURO 2020 last-16 fixture as England triumphs over their bitter rivals with a comfortable 2-0 victory. England were in sublime form coming into the match, winning two group stage matches out of three.

Germany on the other hand barely survived the group of death finishing third behind France and Portugal. Germany came into the game confident unaware of England’s attacking threat which cost them the progression in the EURO 2020.

England were comfortable throughout the game and did not allow Germany any chance to break down their solid defense.

STAND OUT PERFORMERS

HARRY KANE

English striker Harry Kane was formidable in the attack alongside Raheem Sterling and Bakayo Saka. Harry Kane’s movement of the ball was excellent as he created opportunities for other players to run behind him into the empty spaces.

He was playing magnificently and created a lot of chances throughout the game, running behind defences and creating all sorts of problems for the German defence. He scored an 86th-minute header from a Jack Grealish Cross to double England’s lead.

JACK GREALISH

Jack Grealish was substituted in the 69th-minute of the game in place of Saka and had an instant impact after coming on the pitch. He was instrumental in the first goal with his excellent ball distribution which resulted in the first goal of England which was socred by Raheem Sterling.

He directly contributed to the second goal for England as it was his cross into the box which Harry Kane converted with great style. He was instrumental in England’s triumph over Germany and will definitely start the quarter-final of this tournament.

LUKE SHAW

Luke Shaw concentrated on this game ahead of his feud with Jose Mourinho before the match against Germany. He did not let his mind wander and was calm and composed throughout the game. He contributed to the opening goal for England which was converted by Raheem Sterling.
