After his lbw appeal was denied, Pakistani bowler Hasan Ali violently tried to raise the umpire finger with the video now viral
Hasan Ali, a Pakistani bowler who will play for the Babar Azam-led team in a two-match Test series against Sri Lanka next month, can be seen in a funny video trying to lift the on-field umpire’s finger after the official denied his appeal for an LBW call. The 27-year-old is a member of the 18-person team going to Sri Lanka in July.
Hasan Ali Forces Umpire To Raise His Finger And Give Decision In His Favour, Video Goes Viral
The Pakistani squad, captained by renowned batsman Babar Azam, is slated to play a two-match Test series against Sri Lanka next month. The island nation will host the red-ball tournament, with the two games taking place on July 16 and 24, respectively, in Galle and Colombo. The Pakistani athletes are currently playing in an intra-squad warm-up game at the Pindi stadium in order to advance their preparations for the crucial series.
Pakistani pacer Hasan Ali, who is ranked 15th in the world, was amusingly observed during the practice match trying to raise the umpire’s finger after the official denied his LBW plea. The right-arm pacer thought Agha Salman’s pads were hit by his fuller delivery, but the umpire disagreed and made no comment in response to the call from the 27-year-old. The on-field umpire and the celebrity player then laughed together when the star cricketer rushed over to him and attempted to raise his finger.
The 18-member roster for the forthcoming match against the Dimuth Karunaratne-led team was released last week by Pakistan, which played the last red-ball match against Australia in Lahore earlier this year in March. In place of Sajid Khan, Zahid Mahmood, Iftikar Ahmed, and Mohammad Wasim Jr., Pakistan has substituted a much-changed lineup that includes players like Yasir Shah, former skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed, bowler Haris Rauf, and uncapped all-rounder Agha Salman.
The 36-year-old Shah, whose 24-wicket total at an average of 19.33 helped Pakistan defeat Sri Lanka 2-1 in their series in 2015, is back in the lineup after nearly a year. His last game in the longest format was against the West Indies in Kingston last year, which the hosts won by one wicket. He was not chosen for the Australian series at home.
