Xherdan Shaqiri found himself in the midst of controversy after a fan tried to peddle his narrative Of Kosovo seeking independence from Switzerland
As the days are passing and the left aligned section of the society is turning increasingly woke, the world is losing its marbles and going bonkers.
The last couple of years have seen the leftist side of the population indulge in a barrage of antics in a bid to get what they want. Cancelling anything which doesn’t align with their yearning, these people have wrecked havoc with their bemusing protests and inexplicable campaigns.
The world of football is slowly becoming engulfed in these shenanigans as well with the recent World Cup qualifier between Switzerland and Northern Ireland seeing Xherdan Shaqiri being used to peddle the Kosovan Liberation Army’s narrative.
Xherdan Shaqiri Used To Peddle Kosovo Narrative
As Shaqiri stepped up to give his post-match interview after his side’s 2-0 win against Northern Ireland, the old Liverpool player was approached by an unnamed supporter. The man in question draped a jacket supporting the Kosovan independence movement, one which had emblems of the UCK of Kosovan Liberation Army, a militia which has fought for independence from Serbia around the player.
Un imbécile a fait mettre à Shaqiri une veste avec le blason de l'UCK (🤮), qui l'a retiré par réflexe.

Shaqiri was however quick to take the jacket off himself with him going onto place it out of sight of the camera before going ahead with his interview. Shaqiri’s quick thinking and actions have been hailed by the Swiss FA who along with the Serbian FA demanded for sanctions to such kind of activities during football matches.
A statement from the Swiss FA said that it is “unacceptable that people want to use football stadia and in this case a player’s interview after a match – for political propaganda purposes. Xherdan Shaqiri reacted in an exemplary manner, stayed calm and did not react.
“The man was questioned by police and an immediate stadium ban was imposed on him.”
“We are preparing a letter to FIFA,” said Jovan Surbatovic, the Secretary General of the Football Union of Serbia.
