Everton is just not doing well in the Premiere league.
Everton, under Frank Lampard, is not enjoying their finest campaign. Only 11 goals have been scored by the team in its 14 Premier League games thus far. Four days after their 4-1 loss in the Carabao Cup at the Vitality Stadium, the Toffees suffered another setback against the newly promoted team on Saturday, this time by a score of 0-3.
Everton Fan Throws Back Alex Iwobi Jersey At Him After Defeat vs Southampton, Video Goes Viral
Everton lost to Bournemouth 4-1 in a Carabao Cup match last week, and they now have lost twice in as many days at the Vitality Stadium. The Toffees’ most recent loss has them in 17th place going into the World Cup break.
Too much drama in that game.
Not only this defeat caught people’s attention, but a tonne of drama as well. Goalkeeper Jordan Pickford got into a furious argument with a spectator on one side, while Alex Iwobi also had his moment. After the final whistle, the Nigerian football player turned around and gave his shirt to the spectators.
But soon after the team’s devastating loss to Bournemouth, the fans responded by tossing the shirt back at him. Then, in addition to Iwobi, Jordan Pickford also got into a confrontation, which manager Frank Lampard intervened to resolve. During the wild circumstances at full time, Lampard appeared to apologise to the spectators to calm the situation.
