Eddie Nketiah netted a luscious goal for Arsenal as the club routed Watford 4-1 during its pre-season friendly
Although Arsenal supporters haven’t refrained from blowing his horn, Eddie Nketiah hasn’t really managed to make his way into Arsenal’s setup over the last couple of years. Although he has the ability to burst into action when accorded a chance, Mikel Arteta hasn’t been too keen on handing the player manifold chances to showcase his mettle.
It made Arsenal’s pre-season fixtures all the more important for Eddie as he strived to stamp his authority and make a case for himself. Getting a rum out during Arsenal’s friendly against Watford on Wednesday, Nketiah showed what he’s capable of when given a free hand to express himself on the pitch.

The strike nestled into the left corner to see Arsenal take the lead in the 16th minute of the affair. And the London based club went from strength from strength from thereon with Alexandre Lacazette, Kieran Tierney and Miguel Azeez all scoring to seal a 4-1 win for the club on the day.
The side’s emphatic attacking display will come as a massive sigh of relief to the club’s ardent supporters after a dreary showing in the team’s bygone outings. The club will be striving to emulate this pulsating display come the Premier League season as well as it looks to overhaul its underachieving form from last season.
For the last bevy of seasons now, Arsenal have been lacklustre on the pitch, a club which has turned into a meme rather than a top six side. It remains to be seen if the club can provide any solace to its supporters come the 2021-22 season.
