A miffed Denny Hamlin ended up driving straight into Alex Bowman as the two confronted each other ensuing the NASCAR Cup Series playoff race
Things got extremely heated between Denny Hamlin and Alex Bowman during Sunday’s NASCAR Sup Series Xfinity 500 playoff race at the Martinsville Speedway.
With a mere 10 laps to go in the 500 lap race, Bowman ended up crashing into Hamlin at the Virginia short track. Hamlin, a playoff driver who was challenging for a spot in the final Championship 4 was leading the field whilst Bowman chased him down.
As the race came down to seven laps, Bowman found himself on the inside of Hamlin when he decided to try and overtake Hamlin. It lead to Bowman’s No.48 Chevrolet getting loose to see him crash into Hamlin’s No.11 Toyota.

An unsuspecting Hamlin went onto spin, subsequently losing his lead as he slipped down the pack. The entire set of events saw Bowman win his fourth race of the 2021 season while Hamlin came in 24th, a plight which left Hamlin livid as the race came to a close.

As Bowman returned to the frontstretch to celebrate, Hamlin went onto cut him off just infront of the finish line. While Bowman managed to drive around Hamlin, Hamlin refused to let go with him hitting and pushing the nose of Bowman’s car as things turned sour between the duo.
He went off at Bowman in the postrace interview as well, one where he went onto abuse the Chevrolet driver and called him a hack in an incredible outburst on the day.
