It was then that Mumbai decided to take the bid up to Rs.5.25 crore ensuing which Charu turned to Delhi to see if they would up the ante. And while the team from the capital based side went onto bid the same amount, Charu ended up selling the player to the team as Mumbai decided to pull out of the race.
The moment has left ardent viewers of the marquee Indian Premier League scratching their heads over what transpired and how Delhi managed to land the player despite Mumbai having already bid the same amount previously. There has been statement from the BCCI or either the Mumbai Indians or Delhi Capitals over the incident.
Meanwhile, Delhi owner KK Grandhi was previously heard telling his team how he was only trying to take Khaleel’s price up to Rs.5 crore ensuing which he would pull out to ensure Mumbai paid an inflated value for the player.
