Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz came in third at the Italian Grand Prix on Sunday, but his brilliant weekend ended in disappointment when he was robbed a short time later while out in Milan with the video of his watch being stolen viral
The Ferrari star’s watch was stolen but he and his squad eventually found it. Although it appears that the Spaniard is well following the collision, the weekend finishes negatively following a successful day for the Scuderia. Just hours after finishing third in the Italian Grand Prix, Carlos Sainz had his £500,000 watch stolen. Around 8:30 p.m. in Milan, the Armani hotel was where robbers allegedly targeted the Ferrari driver. Still wearing his Ferrari uniform, Sainz pursued them along with others who had witnessed the robbery.

Three guys reportedly approached Sainz outside the Armani Hotel in Milan, according to sources in that country. eventually, they stole a watch from him. However, Sainz and a few bystanders pursued the robbers, stopped them, and eventually turned them over to the police. Police have since detained two suspects, the Spanish driver apprehended the criminals and recovered the priceless Richard Mille watch.
In a similar case, after England’s defeat by Italy in the Euro finals, Lando Norris of England had his £144,000 Richard Mille stolen from him. However, the young racer never received the watch back, and a man was found not responsible for the heist.

After the incident, a video of Sainz and members of his crew conversing with Italian police officers next to a police car surfaced online. Sainz, who started the race from pole position on Sunday at Monza, managed to hold off this year’s unchallenged leader Max Verstappen for 14 laps before being passed. The fan-voted Driver of the Day award was given to him for his performance. Although it was a day he was pleased with, he also put out a valiant effort to place second but ultimately had to settle for third.
Meanwhile, Max Verstappen won his tenth consecutive race to set a new F1 record. Sainz, who had won the pole the day before for the Italian squad in their home race, held Verstappen up for 15 laps. The Dutchman initially locked up as he attempted to squeak by the Spaniard’s Ferrari into the first bend. However, he completed the manoeuvre four corners later to take the lead and was unchallenged to the finish to establish a 145-point lead over Sergio Perez in the championship.
