He fell over the cord and McCarthy showed a split-second presence of his mind to throw the ball back onto his fellow fielder Josh Little. The flick was low and Little couldn’t complete the catch as the ball came in a too-low speed. However the unbelievable fielding effort left everyone stunned and shocked at the time.

Australia put up a total of 179/5 in around 20 overs with skipper Aaron Finch playing the captain’s knock scoring a total 63 runs from 44 balls with 3 sixes and 5 fours. Marcus Stoinis (35 from 25) and Mitchell Marsh (28 from 22 balls) were one of the top scorers in the pitch. Barry McCarthy also starred with the ball picking 3 wickets for 29 runs in 4 overs while Josh Little picked 2 wickets for 21 runs in just 4 overs.

As a reply Ireland were all out for 137 giving Australia a 42 run win. Lorcan Tucker scored 71* from total 48 balls in a one-man show for Ireland. Pat Cummins, Glenn Maxwell, Mitchell Starc and Adam Zampa picked up two wickets each for the team Australia.
