Video footage has emerged of Babita Phogat and her convoy being attacked in Meerut with the BJP claiming it was done by SP workers
With the UP elections on the horizon, political parties have been upping the ante in recent times. As the third wave of COVID regresses and parties revert to door to door campaigning, the political temperature has once again surged in perhaps the most important and largest state of India.

BJP chief campaigner Babita Phogat however was attacked with four members of her convoy sustaining injuries as she hit the ground running in Meerut. Video footage which has emerged of the gruesome attack shows the wrestler being attacked by what the BJP claims were members of the SP and RLD party.
The attack took place village Dabathuva of Siwalkhas assembly constituency with RLD supporters seen coming infront of Babita as she campaigned in the region. The SP and RLD workers were seen bellowing slogans with sticks in their hands with stone pelting also carried out.
The injured were shifted to the CHC for further treatment with a complaint being filed at the Sardhana police station. The police has meanwhile gone onto say that a fight erupted between two BJP and RLD workers which led to the scuffle erupting.
This isn’t the first time BJP members and workers have been subjected to mayhem with miscreants and opposition parties persistently unleashing violence against people associated with the incumbent government.
