On Saturday, England’s Joss Buttler-captained team defeated Sri Lanka in their final Super 12 match in Group 2 of the T20 World Cup. While batting first, Sri Lanka managed to put a target of 142 runs. Alex Hales gave the English team an exciting start while pursuing the target by hitting 47 runs off 32 balls before he was dismissed by Wanidu Hasaranga in the tenth over, which caused England’s batting to look fragile.

Alex Hales appeared for a Sky Cricket interview after England defeated Sri Lanka by four wickets. Hales was seen ignoring his former captain who was standing next to him, which caused some awkwardness. To put things in perspective, Hales was suspended for 21 days after failing two drug tests prior to the 2019 World Cup. He was then dismissed from the team. Hales has been excluded from the team ever since Morgan took over as captain, but after Morgan retired from the game earlier this year, Hales was given a second chance after Jonny Bairstow was sadly injured just weeks before the World Cup. Fans were quick to notice and stormed Twitter with their reactions.
