We examine the interview of Vladimir Putin, which resurfaced on the internet following the death of Yevgeny Prigozhin as his plane crash video goes viral
Only two months after leading mutiny against the army chiefs, the plane of mercenary leader Yevgeny Prigozhin plane crashed with no survivors left. Following this unfortunate incident, Russian President Vladimir Putin broke his silence on Thursday and expressed his condolences to Prigozhin’s family.
Although they cautioned that the intelligence was preliminary and under evaluation, two officials from USA told Reuters that the plane was most likely downed by a surface-to-air missile, which originated from within Russia. Unsurprisingly, they talked on the condition of anonymity and provided no supporting details.

Why Vladimir Putin’s 2018 interview is going viral?
From 23rd June through June 24, Prigozhin led a coup against the army’s top brass that, according to Putin, may have swung Russia into civil war. Notably, the mercenary leader also spent months condemning Russia’s war in Ukraine, and he attempted to remove Head of General Staff Valery Gerasimov and Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu from their respective positions.
During a 2018 documentary, Vladimir Putin was asked whether he was capable of forgiving mistakes made by people. In response to this question, Putin replied by indicating he could forgive certain things but not everything. When Andrei Kondrashov questioned Putin about what was impossible for him to forgive, Putin had replied that betrayal is unforgivable.
What happened between Vladimir Putin and Yevgeny Prigozhin?
Many observers believed the Wagner mercenary boss would be promptly arrested, vanished, or killed when his longtime partner Yevgeny Prigozhin began his unsuccessful uprising against the Russian government in June of this year. The biggest and most humiliating challenge to Putin’s 24-year rule came to an end with an agreement that permitted Prigozhin and his mercenaries to leave for exile in nearby Belarus, much to the amazement of everyone.
Prigozhin, 62, is thought to have perished in a plane accident on Wednesday, exactly two months after his rebellion. This raises questions about whether Putin simply waited to unleash his fury in a way that would serve as a message to others.
