The wait is finally over for Kabaddi fans since season 9 of the Pro Kabaddi will be back later this year. Speaking of PKL season 8, Dabang Delhi defeated three-time champion Patna Pirates to claim their first title victory.

The first season began in 2014 with eight teams and after 2017, it expanded to 12 teams, making the tournament even bigger with more stars on the table.

Everything there is to know about players bidding dates and venue

The route to season 9 of PKL will begin from the auction and just like the previous season, the auction will include a pool of over 500 players.

Speaking of the previous year’s event, we witnessed the record auction in the history of the PKL. Pardeep Narwal was sold to UP Yoddha for an enormous Rs 1.65 crore award making him the most expensive player in PKL’s history.

Auction: The PKL Season 9 auction will take place over the course of two days, August 4 and 5. This auction will be held in Mumbai.

The salary wallet for every franchise that goes on the auction of season 9 of PKL

This time, the total wage exchange applicable to each franchise for its teams will be Rs 4.4 crores .The auctions will feature national, international and new emerging players that will be split into four categories;

Categories A, B, C and D will be ranked based on the roles they play on the team, such as Raider, Defenders and All Rounders.

Retention Rules For PKL 9: In accordance with the League’s rules and policies, teams are allowed to retain their players from the previous year’s event. The Franchisee is authorized to retain up to six players in the Elite Retained Players category as well as up to four young players.

The player that will not be retained will join the 500-player pool to go under the auction.

How to watch the PKL S9 auction live: The auction will be broadcast live on Star Sports Network and Disney Hotstar which will begin at 6:30 pm (IST).
