In their most recent appearance, the Reds won the FA Cup for the first time since 2006, but another spectacular victory at Wembley Stadium came at a cost. Van Dijk was replaced by fellow center-back Joel Matip before the start of extra time. The dominating Dutch defender was suffering from a knee injury that kept him out of the final minutes of another thrilling shootout victory over Chelsea.

Andy Robertson, the Scotland international left-back, was also forced off for Liverpool against Chelsea, although he should be alright after simply suffering cramp. Meanwhile Brazilian midfielder Fabinho is recovering from a thigh ailment.

Salah, Van Dijk, and Fabinho are all expected to miss Tuesday’s match against Southampton, but the Champions League final is a feasible return date. They are the only three Reds players due to miss Tuesday’s game, so it isn’t exactly an injury catastrophe, but Klopp will be hoping to have them all recovered for UCL final against Real Madrid.
