Free practice on Friday ahead of the US Grand Prix 2021 saw Max Verstappen show the middle finger to Lewis Hamilton
The ongoing spat between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen is not going to wane this season.
Both the drivers have been at loggerheads across the length of the season with the battle for the glistening title seeing things turn extremely sour between them. Things first went on a downtick between the two when Hamilton had ended up crashing into Verstappen at Silverstone to end his race.
Max Verstappen Shows Lewis Hamilton The Middle Finger As Both Lock Heads During FP2
Verstappen had retaliated at the Italian Grand Prix as he ended up shoving his car above Hamilton’s Mercedes in Monza. And come the US Grand Prix, the two continued their tiff with both driving precariously close to each other in a bid to stamp their authority during free practice on Friday.

Only 10 minutes into the second practice session at the Circuit of the Americas, Hamilton dived down the inside of Verstappen at the end of a lap as both the drivers went into the final corner. Hamilton’s move forced Verstappen to steer wide before both once again locked heads down the start finish straight and into the uphill first turn.
Verstappen was left seething as he eased with him calling Hamilton a stupid idiot and showing the Brit the middle finger. Verstappen was asked by his team to ignore the entire incident with his team trying its best to calm the Dutch driver.
Assessing the incident, team principal Christian Horner said: “They were queueing up to start the lap and Lewis decided to jump Max.”
“Max was just pointing out he was first in the queue, so one of those things.”
Hamilton meanwhile recorded the third quickest lap in FP2, 0.364s behind Perez while Bottas who will serve a five-place penalty for the race for his sixth engine change of the season was fourth in FP2.
