The Australian Grand Prix’s organisers are in the hot seat after the World Motor Sport Council received complaints about security lapses with a video of a streaker without his clothers at the 2023 GP viral
After security lapses in Melbourne, a streaker sprinted around the Australian Grand Prix track the naked.

On Sunday, Max Verstappen prevailed in a riotous race in Australia that included a record three red lights. However, there was more controversy as One F1 fan on Sunday bared the security lapses at the Australian Grand Prix, quite literally!
Many spectators broke through the barriers to enter the live track during the wild Melbourne finish, which saw Max Verstappen win under an FIA safety car. Lewis Hamilton reported the incident over the radio, which resulted in a red flag and instructions for all cars to return to the pits.

But for Haas resident Nico Hulkenberg, who had to abandon his vehicle on the grass due to an electrical malfunction, that wasn’t so simple. The International Motor Sport Council, who certainly did not see the humour in the situation and who have now called the race directors, allowed the car to get within touching distance of several spectators.
There was one man, though, who made other observers and fans laugh. He quickly got it onto the track and joyously paraded his crown jewels while he was being pursued by officials after deciding to strip off once the race had officially completed. Before being apprehended and brought down, he was able to sprint down the straight and turn before being led away and given the riot act. F1 fans were divided after watching the video of the event go viral online.
What steps are going to be taken?
Most of the fans did not like the incident and were looking for some penalties whereas some were just okay with it. Yet the ones who might be worried about penalties are the organisers. They were judged to have violated a section of the FIA’s International Sports Code that deals with “any risky act or omission to take necessary safeguards, resulting in an unsafe situation.”
Yet this is not the first time a streaker has disrupted a Grand Prix. In 1998, a man carrying a flag sped onto the circuit and interrupted Michael Schumacher’s attempt to win.
