While the relationship between both the fans isn’t known yet, people have called out the man for what they claim is assault from his side as he took advantage of the passed out female Kazier Chiefs fan.

The dreams of Kaizer Chiefs winning a trophy in 2024 were dashed by the loss, which was marred by intolerable disturbances off the field. The game was disrupted by pitch invasions and missiles being thrown into the field, which drew strong criticism from both the club and the supporters.

Kaizer Chiefs issued a formal statement expressing their regret for the unfavourable events to their sponsors, stakeholders, PSL, SAFA, and devoted followers. The club said it was deeply sorry and described the missile-throwing and incursions as “completely unacceptable.”

Chiefs said that certain spectators, under the influence of drink, added to the mayhem despite careful preparations for the sold-out game.

Chiefs made it clear that they will not put up with such behaviour, even as they acknowledged the tremendous support from supporters this season.

“We are compelled to raise concerns and condemn the unacceptable behaviour exhibited by a minority of football supporters during Saturday’s match,” the statement read.

The majority of fans who showed sportsmanship by showing up early and acting appropriately in spite of the dismal outcome on the field were especially recognized by the club.

Three supporters were taken into custody for their roles in the pitch invasions and disruptions, according to Kaizer Chiefs. These people showed up for court on Monday morning. The club is in favour of stronger penalties for disruptive behaviour and supports the legal system.

Kaizer Chiefs issued apology

According to the chiefs, some of the incidents that occurred that day were caused by fans who showed up to the game intoxicated. It is totally inappropriate to invade the pitch and toss missiles onto the field. Even though the sold-out game was meticulously prepared for, they saw problems early on. Before the game, several fans were already intoxicated, which resulted in unwelcome situations.

This brings to light an urgent social issue that our communities and the football industry must work together to resolve.

“We are dedicated to ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all our supporters and will continue to take necessary measures to uphold the integrity of the game,” the statement concluded.
