Nicholas Latifi refused to give Lewis Hamilton any leeway during free practice ahead of the F1 Belgian Grand Pix
With the summer shutdown seeing F1 stay at back for a string of weeks, fans were yearning for action out in the middle. And their instable thirst was finally quenched as the free practice sessions ahead of the Belgian Grand Prix got underway on Friday.
Return of F1 meant we were once again going to be regaled in an intoxicating brew of action. Given the competitiveness and feisty nature of the fracas between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton at the top of the table, the Belgian Grand Prix promised to see the fireworks go off.
Lewis Hamilton And Nicholas Latifi At Loggerheads In FP1 Ahead Of The F1 Belgian Grand Prix
And while it wasn’t Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton managed to emerge in the limelight on Friday itself during FP1. As he chased after Nicholas Latifi as the two snapped at each other’s heels in a bid to set the fastest lap at Spa, the two almost ended up being embroiled in a behemoth clash.
Hamilton who was going hammer and tongs at the Williams’ driver as he looked to overtook him was being persistently blocked by Latifi. Finding the smallest of gaps open up, Hamilton decided to up the ante as he chased it before Latifi went onto close it within no time.
Hamilton was quick to draw back as Latifi blocked him with his quick reflexes and thinking seeing him just about evading crashing into Latifi. The Mercedes’ man will be grateful that the accident was staved especially after his antics at Silverstone had ended up ruining Red Bull and Verstappen’s British GP.
