It is estimated that the construction of the Varanasi Cricket Stadium will be completed by the end of next year. According to known information, total of INR 350 crore will be used to complete the stadium construction, which is spanned across 31 acres. With state-of-the-art amenities, the next stadium is expected to be built in a record-breaking speed.

When fans can witness the opening of the Varanasi Cricket Stadium?

On Monday, the Uttar Pradesh government announced in a statement that the land acquisition for the projected Varanasi Cricket Stadium is done and fans can expect that the stadium will be ready by the end of 2024. With a seating capacity of 30,000, the stadium in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s parliamentary district would be constructed at the approximate cost of INR 350 Crore. In September 2022, the land purchase procedure was accelerated and purchase of land from 31 farmers had received approval from the UP Cabinet.

The state government has purchased a land measuring 31 acres in Rajatalab area of Varanasi for the international cricket stadium but hasn’t given an official name to it currently. It will have a seating capacity of 30,000.

How will the Varanasi Cricket Stadium help in strengthening future of Indian cricket?

It has been confirmed that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will manage the stadium and they will also be in charge of operating the stadium on a long-term lease. In exchange for the lease, the Board will pay the government a set sum each year. Owing to the this movement, many cricketers from Purvanchal and nearby states like Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, & Chhattisgarh will improve their abilities.

According to known information, the government has handed the land ownership to the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association. Following this announcement, Larsen & Toubro have been declared as the nodal agency and as soon as the designs are finalized, the construction of this stadium will get underway. In response to this news, Indian cricketer Suresh Raina expressed his delight and hoped that the stadium will help in fulfilling the potential of young cricketers.
