Valtteri Bottas was the main culprit behind the retirement of five cars after crashing into Norris at lap 1 of the F1 Hungarian GP with him and Lance Stroll getting penalty points
Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas crashed into Lando Norris at turn 1 of the Hungarian Grand Prix which created ruckus as many cars crashed into each other because of which, the race was red-flagged. Meanwhile, Lance Stroll came in inside of Charles Leclerc causing a collision resulting in the retirement of both cars.
The collision at turn 1 resulted in the retirement of Sergio Perez, Valtteri Bottas, and Lando Norris who had a brilliant start to the race. Bottas was slow at the lights out because of the wheel-spin allowing Lando Norris to get in front of him. However, damp conditions got the better of Bottas who had a lockup of brakes and crashed into Norris taking him and several others out of the race.

Valtteri Bottas has been handed over a five-place grid penalty for the upcoming Belgian Grand Prix after the summer break. Also, stewards felt that the collision could have been avoided which resulted in the retirement of 5 cars at the first lap.
Meanwhile, he has also received 2 penalty points on his license taking his tally to 4 points only 8 points away from a race ban. Aston Martin driver Lance Stroll crashed into Charles Leclerc at turn 1 coming from the outside resulting in the retirement of both the cars.

Lance Stroll Dished Penalty As Well
Stroll was found guilty after crashing heavily into Leclerc taking both of them out and spinning Daniel Ricciardo who was hit by Leclerc. As a result, Canadian was handed over a five-place grid penalty for the upcoming Belgian GP and two points on his license taking his tally to 6 points.
Ocon wins the F1 Hungarian Grand Prix
Mercedes made a blunder by keeping Hamilton out before the restart as everybody pitted to change the intermediate tyres. Hamilton did not change his tyres enabling every car to get close to him forcing him to pit at the next lap and change into mediums.
He came out at the back of the grid but managed to secure P3 before the chequered flag, fighting intensely with Fernando Alonso who showed good defensive abilities to keep the Briton at bay helping his teammate to extend the lead at the front.
Both the Renault finished in points after a long time in Formula 1. Meanwhile, Williams also managed to get both of their drivers in the top 10 scoring points with both the drivers for the first time. Nicholas Latifi edged out his teammate for the first time this season finishing P8 before George Russel.
Sebastian Vettel enjoyed his second P2 of this season after an extraordinary performance at the blazing Hungaroring. Surprisingly, Estaban Ocon managed to escape from the on-track mess and chased down Lewis Hamilton after coming out of the pits.
He led for all the 70-laps with Lewis Hamilton battling it out with his teammate Fernando Alonso who did not allow the Briton to pass him. Ocon secured his first-ever Formula 1 victory at the Hungarian Grand Prix after a magnificent drive at the burning Hungaroring.
Good weekend for Alpha Tauri
Pierre Gasly and Yuki Tsunoda managed to score points for Alpha Tauri tiptoeing their way through the chaos at turn 1. Hungarian Grand Prix weekend somewhere a successful one for Mercedes who now lead RedBull in the Constructor’s League by 10 points.
RedBull of Max Verstappen endured heavy damage after Norris crashed into him causing damage to the floor of the car which did not allow the Dutchman to push his car to the limit. He finished a disappointing P10 which saw Hamilton overtaking him in the Driver’s Championship by 6 points.
