The figures which have been compiled by the UK government have gone onto detail how unchecked and mask less crowds made the Euro 2020 final a superspreader event
The Euro 2020 final between England and Italy did more than just tarnish England’s image on the world stage. As the country slipped to a defeat in the showpiece summit clash, appalling visuals emanated from the country.
From indulging in racist insults directed at their own players, beating Italian supporters to fighting amongst themselves, the Brits showed how they are one of the most cringeworthy on the Earth. The pictures were horrific, ones which spilt cold over the facade of being a gentleman’s country.
However, its not only a bad name that the Euro 2020 final brought for the land. As per data released by the incumbent UK government, the final was a COVID-19 superspreader event with the only thing which came home for the country being the disease.
Only Thing Which Came Home From Euro 2020 Was COVID-19 As Final Emerges As Superspreader Event
As per figures, 2,300 people likely infected with COVID-19 attended last monthโs Euro 2020 football final at Londonโs Wembley Stadium. Proceeding the final, another 3,404 people who attended contracted Coronavirus and may have been infected at Wembley, data released by Public Health England has stated,
The data has come out at a time when the England is reeling through a horrendous wave of COVID. While Boris Johnson has decided to throw open everything in the country with spectators being allowed to visit football stadiums during the ongoing Premier League, the country reported a staggering 33,000 plus cases on Thursday.
For a country which was racially abusing Indians during the Trent Bridge test match with a section of English supporters directing delta variant chants at Indians in reference to the variant of COVID found in India, England themselves have been torrid in their own management. Would be better if they focused on getting their own house in order first.
