During his convincing 6-1 victory over Shaun Murphy, Jack Lisowski made record-tying four straight century breaks and qualified for his maiden semi-final at any Triple Crown competition. Lisowski will face-off against Mark Allen on Saturday night in York after the latter overcame 4-2 deficit to defeat Sam Craigie by score of 6-4.

In his 2022 Cazoo UK Championship quarterfinal clash against Ding Junhui, Ronnie O’Sullivan suffered his first career-long whitewash in any Triple Crown match, losing 6-0. As a result of Ronnie’s numerous mistakes in the first two frames, Ding gained confidence and became unstoppable from that point on, making four breaks of 80 or more.
O’Sullivan had a scoring opportunity early in frame four but only made four before miscuing on a short range red. Ding profited greatly from a huge fluke on a red to the center pocket and scored 94. The 14-time ranking event champion continued where he left off with a run of 87 for 5-0 after the break and saved his best for last, capping the match with break of 131.
Ford got out to a good start with breaks of 103 and 62 for a 2-0 lead, but Perry came back with a run of 70. In frame four, Ford outplayed Perry with a 41-yard clearance to take 3-1 lead into the break after Perry rattled the penultimate red. Before Ford retook the lead with an 86, Perry bounced back with 101 and 66 for a 3-3 tie.
In frame eight, Perry had scoring opportunity but was out of position on 25, and Ford took charge with a run of 49. Later, Perry was able to make the cue he needed on the green, but he missed it to the center pocket, allowing Ford to lead 5-3. Ford may have sealed the outcome in frame nine, but with a 66-40 lead, he missed as Perry won the frame with clearance to make it 5-4. However, Ford dominated 10th frame to seal victory by score of 6-4.

Prize Money Pool Distribution at 2022 UK Championships
2022 UK Championships prize money has increased from £1,009,000 to £1,205,0000, and instead of the winner receiving £200,000 in cash, they will now receive $250,000. In contrast, the competition’s runner-up will receive a cash prize of £100,000 rather than the semi-final losers, who will only receive £50,000. Joe Parry and Ronnie O’Sullivan will receive $25,000 each as compensation for being eliminated in the quarterfinal.
