2023 UK Athletics Championships schedule, date, venue, & favorites to win
From 8th July through 9th July, the Manchester Regional Arena will host the 2023 UK Athletics Championships & World Trials. Along with national championships, spots at the Budapest World Championships in August are on the line, with the top two finishers in each event earning spots to represent Great Britain, provided they meet the qualifying requirements.
Meanwhile, the Team Great Britain selectors will choose one additional spot, bringing the total to three. Jake Wightman, who won the men’s 1500m at the Track and Field World Championships in Eugene last year, has a Wildcard for Budapest to defend his title, allowing three more Britons to join him in the team.
In Manchester, Asher-Smith will participate both in the 100-meter race & 200-meter race. However, she will face fierce competition from Olympic finalist Daryll Neita, who won bronze in the short sprint last year. Prior to competing for gold in Budapest next month, the 27-year-old will be eager to defeat her countrywoman and win both titles. After breaking Linford Christie’s 30-year-old British men’s 100m record in New York late last month, Zharnel Hughes will be among the main attractions in Manchester.
