The icon was referred to as “Der Kaiser” who led the Germans to victory in the 1972 European Championship and the 1974 World Cup. He managed his nation when it won the gold medal in international games in 1990.

When and where is the EURO 2024 Opening Ceremony?
Although the formal Euro 2024 opening ceremony has not yet been determined, there will be an opening concert the day before the first whistle.
The Euro 2024 ceremony which will feature some local musicians will take place in Stuttgart on Thursday, June 14 at Schlossplatz in Stuttgart, Germany.
Schlossplatz, which was built between 1746 and 1807, is the city’s main square and a lovely and historic place for tourists to explore the city.
The audience can start arriving at 16:00 local time, or 10:00 ET, and the event will start at 17:00 local time, or 11:00 ET. The event, which will include a few well-known performers, is expected to go until 16:30 ET/2230 local time. Tickets can be bought from here.
It is likely to start at around 19:30 BST on June 14 as kick-off will follow soon after at 20:00.
