Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk a long series of exchanges
Usyk who successfully defeated Anthony Joshua in their rematch back in August, called out Fury in his post-fight interview, saying:
I’m sure that Tyson Fury is not retired yet. I’m sure, I’m convinced he wants to fight me. I want to fight him and if I’m not fighting Tyson Fury, I’m not fighting at all.”
Fury soon responded on Twitter, sharing how poor the Joshua vs Usyk 2 fight was and how he could:
annihilate both of them on the same night”.
Ever since Usyk’s last fight, both sides have been making steps to make the fight happen. Despite Fury beating Derek Chisora in December 2022, his main goal has reportedly always been the Fury vs Usyk fight. Much to the delight of fans, Usyk has accepted the challenge put forward by Fury on Instagram. The two fighters now just need to draw up the contract and sign it to finally confirm the fight.

Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk expected purse
The initial talks for the Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk began in 2022. Back then, Fury claimed that he would only come out of retirement for a £500 million purse split 50/50. However, Fury has currently come out of retirement, and the bout, which was set to bring out a half-a-billion figure has now fallen through.
The exact purse for the exciting bout is currently unknown. However, what’s for sure is that Fury will get a large amount after offering a 70/30 purse split in his favour, which Usyk surprisingly accepted. Usyk’s team had previously sent a 50/50 split and 60/40 offer to the winner. However, Fury rejected both offers before sending in his offer.
Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk fight venue and date
When initial talks began, Tyson Fury’s US promoter Bob Arum revealed about the fight’s date and venue stating that they:
are balancing a couple of significant offers from the Middle East and also there’s the possibility of doing the fight in the UK”.
This was however, back when the Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk fight purse was set at around £500 million and the Middle East seemed like the ideal option to host that figure. However, the Saudi Arabia location fell through after the venue contractors revealed that stadium set to host the game will not be ready by the proposed fight date.
As such, the fight promoters had to move the bout away to London, England at the Wembley stadium. Organisers have confirmed that the bout will take place on the 29th of April, 2023.
Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk final fight prediction
Both fighters are fantastic fighters, and both fighters have good chances of walking away from the fight as worthy champions. However, Tyson Fury seems to have a slight advantage over Usyk. No doubt, the match will feature heavy fight, but Fury has the height and greater reach over Usyk. Fury also has the added advantage of fighting close to home.
Meanwhile, Usyk will depend on his technical ability to get inside and close to Fury. The Ukrainian won’t be able to match Fury if he stays outside. All things considered, the match will probably go the full length, and see a split-decision to decide the winner.
