Usyk who successfully defeated Anthony Joshua in their rematch back in August, called out Fury in his post-fight interview, saying:

I’m sure that Tyson Fury is not retired yet. I’m sure, I’m convinced he wants to fight me. I want to fight him and if I’m not fighting Tyson Fury, I’m not fighting at all.”

Ever since Usyk’s last fight, both sides have been making steps to make the fight happen. Despite Fury beating Derek Chisora in December 2022, his main goal has reportedly always been the Fury vs Usyk fight. However, what’s for sure is that Fury will get a large amount after offering a 70/30 purse split in his favour, which Usyk surprisingly accepted.
